Antigoof isn’t Hellram. He was already around back when Hellram was here.
Honestly, I’m relieved that chapter is over — otherwise we’d probably still be reading posts in every single thread explaining how nothing that goes wrong in Detroit is ever Goff’s fault, and how nothing that goes right with the Rams has anything to do with Stafford.
Stafford won a Super Bowl the moment he arrived and is now playing at an MVP level, yet somehow the same old Goff narratives kept popping up over and over. At some point, reality has a way of catching up with the narrative. - 2 Been thanked

October 22nd, 2025, 10:00 am Rams D + Stafford = Magic 😎 October 22nd, 2025, 10:00 am Rams D + Stafford = Magic 😎
What happens when you pair Stafford with a great defense?
https://twitter.com/wymill07/status/1980373477833249133
https://twitter.com/bgrisakTST/status/1980341655715852629
Matthew Stafford seems to be paired with the best defense of his 17-year NFL career. The Los Angeles Rams rank first in Defensive EPA (Estimated Points Added) through seven weeks and Chris Shula’s side of the ball is second in points allowed and 2nd in points per drive allowed.
It is the first time the Rams have ranked this high on defense since they were first in 2020, the year before they traded for Stafford. Is this the best defense of Stafford’s career and could it lead him back to another Super Bowl?
The Rams have ranked the following Stafford’s seasons:
2021: 15th in points allowed
2022: 21st in points allowed
2023: 19th in points allowed
2024: 17th in points allowed
Stafford era Rams have never ranked higher than 15th. They went 12-5 the year that they won the Super Bowl with a decent defense and since then went 5-12, 10-7, and 10-7.
The Rams are now 5-2 going into the bye week and Shula’s defense is top-10 in both yards per pass and yards per carry allowed: 4th in NY/A (7.1) allowed and 7th in YPC (4.1) allowed. L.A. is tied with the Seahawks for the fewest rushing touchdowns allowed (2) and they are eighth in takeaways.
Pass rusher Byron Young has emerged from a very good player to leading the league in sacks with 9!
Teammate Jared Verse has 4 sacks in 7 games, putting him on track to potentially get to double-digits. Both Young and Verse have 17 QB hits and could be the top edge rusher duo in the NFL.
Although the Rams need help in the secondary, Quentin Lake has emerged as one of the NFL’s top nickel corners and he has 9 passes defensed and a forced fumble. Nathan Landman has acclimated himself well to the middle of the defense with 67 tackles and a ton of splash plays.
Is this the best defense of Stafford’s career? It could be.
Back in 2014, the Detroit Lions ranked 3rd in points allowed and 2nd in yards allowed. That Lions team went 11-5 with Stafford, the best year of his 12-year career in Detroit. They lost in the wild card round of the playoffs.
In no other season of Stafford’s Lions career did the team rank inside the top-13 in scoring defense. They ranked outside the top-20 on seven occasions. In fact, Jared Goff has enjoyed 2 top-12 scoring defense seasons in Detroit already, a big reason why he’s had success there.
What’s the limit for a Stafford team that also has a great defense? There should not be one. If the Rams and Stafford can continue on this path, they will be a contender to emerge from the NFL’s toughest conference as a number one seed and/or Super Bowl team. This is probably the best defense of Stafford’s career and he’s already won a Super Bowl with an even lesser unit on that side of the ball.

Its too much to give up in my opinion. I'm willing to see what Durant, Kendrick, Witherspoon and Forbes can do for another year before we make any sudden decisions. Plus, we still have McCoullagh and Kitchens. I'll pass. I think this defense is going to take a huge step this season and we don't need any distractions or problems. - 2 Been thanked

June 4th, 2025, 8:00 pm Re: 1969 Los Angeles Rams... oh my, What happened?!?! June 4th, 2025, 8:00 pm Re: 1969 Los Angeles Rams... oh my, What happened?!?!
COLD!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it wasn't substancially warmer in the game's first half, when the Rams took a ten-point lead (17-7) than in the second half, when they collapsed and lost (20-23) that postseason contest.
To me, the story of our team's 1969 season was that George Allen's ultra-emotional 'rah-rah' approach eventually wore the players down mentally, including in the Western Conference playoff when they couldn't maintain their full focus during the second half.
However, I will concede that the winter weather in Minnesota was a contributing factor. Actually, the NFL's archaic rule about rotating home-field advantage in postseason play worked against the Good Guys on four occasions, also depriving our team of playoff home field in the '74 NFC championship game vs. the Vikings. (Both teams finished 10-4, however the Rams had won the head-to-head regular-season matchup that year, their first victory over the Vikings since '68.)
The Good Guys finally notching their first postseason win (34-10) vs. the Vikings during the '78 divisional-round playoffs, I'll never forget that victory, for Pat Haden it had to be the high point of his NFL career... :) 8-) :!:

I just posted about this on Humphries posts. Not good. I don't know how you can be in NFL on blood thinners if that is the course of treatment. Hopefully this is a minor issue and med team can handle this. If not Humphries was not added for depth but to replace Jackson.
Hope all goes well for Jackson.

Remember all the top 5 picks we had pre- McVay? Translated into nada. Look at the Jets. They keep getting great picks, but have a shit organization without the right coach. Darnold is playing great. Geno was playing great. Just don't be a Jet. Even Rogers suffered there. I think the coach has so much to do with it all(duh). I remember that 1st game vs the Colts(I think?) that McVay had. Right after Fisher. We crushed them, and never looked back. It was night to day. I am thinkful for this guy, so no- no trade to Giants. Idiotic x 1000 - 2 Been thanked

November 17th, 2025, 2:13 pm Re: 8-2 November 17th, 2025, 2:13 pm Re: 8-2
Well then, Sean McVay and the other coaches need to figure out how to counter what the Seahawks were doing vs. our team on defense, since the Rams can't count on getting four interceptions again during the rematch at Seattle on December 18th, in another Thursday night divisional contest.
Still, it's good to have the Good Guys in sole possession of the top spot in the NFC West for the first time this year, leading is always better than chasing... :) :!:
RAM SEASON!!
--The Commish
Rams were favored by about 3, pretty standard edge for a home team between equals.
And by equals, I mean arguably the two best football teams in the world. Philly, Denver and others will obviously have a say before it's all over, but imo the Rams just beat the 2nd best team in the NFL. So how easy was it supposed to be?
The 4 picks were a huge difference in the game. Darnold was pressured and threw them. Stafford was pressured and grounded them instead. Both pass rushes are elite. Both QB's aren't at this point. Stafford was reduced to largely ineffective for a lot of the game, but he refused to make things easier for SEA. Let our defense do it's job.
Will it be a tough game in SEA? Obviously, tho SEA tends to play just as well/better on the road for whatever reason.
Rams are an inch or two from being undefeated. SEA from one loss, if not undefeated themselves.
Nothing's easy in this League. But again I think that game represented the current best of the best.
So tell us again what the Rams need to figure out?
“ Darnold was pressured and threw them. Stafford was pressured and grounded them instead.”
This^. I’m not sure what malibu was watching. The only 4 times we got pressure was on the 4 INT’s………………..

September 5th, 2025, 10:28 pm Houston Texans vs. Los Angeles Rams Injury Report September 5th, 2025, 10:28 pm Houston Texans vs. Los Angeles Rams Injury Report
In contrast, the Rams appear to be in relatively good health heading into the game. The team expects all players to be available, including cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who managed a knee issue earlier in the week but has been cleared. Left tackle Alaric Jackson was limited by an illness but has been given the green light to play. Right tackle Rob Havenstein was rested during the week but carries no game status designation, indicating he’s ready to go.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, who missed some camp time due to a back issue, fully participated in practice and is off the injury report entirely.

November 23rd, 2025, 11:12 pm Re: 9-2 November 23rd, 2025, 11:12 pm Re: 9-2
We keep impressing. I have noticed gradual improvements in play calling, defensive backfield and special teams over the last 3-4 weeks. This time last year I was still rebounding from that terrible frustrating start of the season.
If we can stay the course and continue to stay healthy and make gradual adjustments I can see us winning the whole thing this year. No team is unbeatable but the only two really tough teams left on our schedule are the Lions at home and the Seahawks on the road. Carolina, Arizona (x2) and Atlanta are all very winnable games. 13-4 or better is very doable. 15-2 would be great. All I want is to get homefield advantage and not have to play Philly, GB, or Chicago in the cold. - 2 Been thanked
