October 13th, 2025, 7:43 am Re: 4-2.... I will take it October 13th, 2025, 7:43 am Re: 4-2.... I will take it
At the beginning of the year, I realized a good possibility this is where would be at this stage. Many of us are disappointed that our record is not better but when you factor in that the Colts handed us one, it could be a lot worse. That first half against Bmore was a little scary, but hopefully we can get a nice win against JAX and continue to handle our own business, rather than relying on Tampa and others .
It was an ugly win but we rallied and got the W. I think most people would have been happy with a 4-2 start before the season. The heartbreaking loss to the Niners as well as the east coast travel could have been a factor. It will be very interesting to see how we look against the Jags for sure. - 2 Been thanked

April 27th, 2025, 4:38 pm Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft? April 27th, 2025, 4:38 pm Re: WTF are the Rams doing this draft?
Getting the 2026 First Round pick from the Falcons was huge. Snead and the Rams were really high on the Oregon TE. Drafting him @ 46 may have been a few picks early but he’s not on the board @91. Rams get a big target who was the fastest TE at the combine from a top caliber college team who produced really good numbers against good competition.
2nd round pick was a BPA type at a valued position (Edge) in today’s NFL You need quality depth to be able to keep your pass rush fresh and to utilize blitz packages. Team captain at Michigan with a polished rush approaches that could possibly play LB on 3rd downs.
RB from Auburn was a productive player in the SEC. Not sure if this means that Kyren is going to move on after this season or not but it seems like RB is a position that the Rams aren’t going to be investing a 2nd contract in anymore since the TG III extension fiasco. I don’t think it’s something that impacts Corrum other than providing him more competition. Rams were in a position where if one of their top 2 running backs go down they were limited in depth. Corrum being injured and unavailable left them short handed against Philly.
The DT from OSU could be a diamond in the rough in my opinion. Ohio State players talked about how much Hamilton did that created opportunities for others to excel. He did a lot of the dirty work that goes unnoticed like taking away gaps in the run game. Good rotational help that keeps players fresh and a position that is vital when you’re trying to slow down the Players like Barkley. Rams seem to draft a DT every year and have rarely extended this position outside of AD recently.
Chris Paul looks like an excellent addition at LB a little undersized but has a lot of speed and instincts that could make him very effective in this defense.
Don’t know much about the WR late. Not a big name but supposedly a good route runner with decent hands and some Special Teams skills.
Overall this was a strange draft with not much depth. The OT positions were pretty much gone in the first round and you could tell it wasn’t just the Rams not drafting OT after the early part of the second round. Teams like Seattle, SF and Houston that all had needs didn’t touch the offensive line positions until really late.
It’s way too early to evaluate this draft because the Rams were in a position where there’s not a lot of glaring holes on this team and they were not going to have double digit new players making the team like they have had lately. Rams have a very talented team. I still think they will be addressing some positions in the second phase of free agency.
Rams didn’t address the QB position and it was apparent that this draft wasn’t a franchise QB type draft. The Rams got valuable draft capital in 2026 that could make a huge difference in their realistic ability to find a successor to Stafford in next year’s draft which on paper looks much stronger. Having the extra picks gives them an extra chip on the table and an actual pathway to find a franchise QB without having to suffer through a lost season.
I do trust Snead to fill out the roster and McVay to coach this team up and have them ready for his 9 th season as the Rams Head Coach. - 2 Been thanked

December 26th, 2025, 7:13 am Re: Zone vs Man to Man December 26th, 2025, 7:13 am Re: Zone vs Man to Man
This is why IMO the CB is THE hardest position in the league outside of QB. Tough to find good NFL starters. But to me it's pretty clear other teams have better guys on their backend than we currently do. Could be the D scheme, could be the player skills(of lack of). Could be both. Can't expect them to breakup every play, but they been pretty bad all year despite a few good games. - 2 Been thanked

May 1st, 2025, 2:02 am Re: Biggest Threat; Wash Phi. MINN. Det??? May 1st, 2025, 2:02 am Re: Biggest Threat; Wash Phi. MINN. Det???
I think the biggest threat to the Rams is staying healthy and on the field. Year after year the Rams seem to be decimated by injuries and have to play behind in the count (baseball reference)
Yes that's my concern.. I think getting Adams was a key FA as Kupp just couldn't stay healthy..
I think we have much better depth this year although the OT position is my biggest concern as there really is no one behind AJ and Hav. - 2 Been thanked

According to Over The Cap, the Los Angeles Rams have the smallest rookie pool in the NFL for the 2025 season, set at $6.734 million. This figure reflects the team’s lack of a first-round pick, the relatively low slot of their highest selection (No. 46 overall), and their limited number of draft picks (six). For comparison, the New England Patriots, with a larger and higher-selected draft class, have the largest rookie pool at $18.887 million.

October 18th, 2025, 4:11 pm Re: AFC NFC wide open? October 18th, 2025, 4:11 pm Re: AFC NFC wide open?
Fir the same reasons that the Colts could have been undefeated if it wasnt for them beating themselves which a huge error is the same reason why the rams could be undefeated. KW fumble (vs SF) and a 2 blocked mid fgs (vs Eagles) is why the rams isn't undefeated.
Rams are very much in tbe nix of being one of the best teams in the NFC. All of the NFC teams have issues.

May 15th, 2025, 4:04 pm Re: QB Depth and Bennett. May 15th, 2025, 4:04 pm Re: QB Depth and Bennett.
So things have settled down post draft. But the Rams have still not addressed QB of the future. As of now Rams did not pick up an additional QB. So depth is Matthew, Jimmy, and Bennett.
Does Bennett make the team or do you see a change in preseason play. Especially if Bennett under performs?
I posted in another thread that I really think the Rams need his roster spot this year. They might be tempted to carry 4 TE's and/or 4 RB's. Also, look at ILB with Paul and maybe Dolac. If we trade for Ramsey CB is another crowded position group.
IMO there is a bullseye on his roster spot especially if they don't see him as the successor to Stafford. It would make things extremely interesting if he balls out in preseason and they don't think he'll make it to the PS. Nobody is even considering that.
Carrying 4 TE's is folly. If we need to carry 6, then they are ALL essentially trash and we are trying to man it with quantity over quality. If they are all that unessential, drop ALL of them and find someone else
Same with RB .. make a call, Williams, Corum and our draft guy, or Corum OR the draft guy, pick one other back and go with it. Stop wasting spots on marginal players that just take up space - 2 Been thanked

Obviously, there's no 'downside' with a UDFA, should he fail to work out due to (in this case) his lack of size for an O-lineman.
Steve Availa or Kevin Dotson might be sidelined by injury at some point, in which case Willie Lampkin could prove useful as a fill-in, should his college game translate reasonably well to the NFL.
Signing a football player from a basketball school, it has worked out successfully before... 8-) :!:

December 31st, 2025, 10:39 am Re: Rest Starters Now December 31st, 2025, 10:39 am Re: Rest Starters Now
let's count the ways why this won't happen
1) 4 guys coming back from injury that need the time on field
2) Getting the 5 seed is important and they must win to get that chance
3) Team is out of synch...not what you want going into playoffs, they need to fix it
4) Stafford needs to get back out there and shake off the last few weeks so he's feelin it again
I do think if the Rams go up big in the first half McV backs it down, but as long as Stafford is playing the 1's will be out there

I'll bet Kupp wishes he'd signed elsewhere .. 14 targets for Smith .. 1 for Kupp. 32 yard reception in the first quarter, then never looked at again. I imagine Seattle is also wondering why they are paying him at this point - 2 Been thanked

Plus we lost Bobby Brown and Michael Hoecht from the D-Line and added only Poona Ford. Hence the trade-up for Hamilton.

July 4th, 2025, 12:27 pm Glad we didn't get Ramsey saved 20m July 4th, 2025, 12:27 pm Glad we didn't get Ramsey saved 20m
We have a lot of money to help us down the line (currently 20m) when something comes up and we need it and if we don't need it by chance we have 20m more for FA next year.
What Pittsburg paid for Ramsey was stupid both in draft capital and his salary that deal is why I and most other Rams fans didn't want him. He is past his prime and still solid but nowhere near worth 26m. We all know we dodged a bullet.
Like I keep saying this team has this off-season and training camp to develop cohesion among the DB room Kendricks is back, Forbes has a full off-season plus to develop and Durant, Witherspoon and Williams plus backups will be way tighter than last year. - 2 Been thanked

January 5th, 2026, 6:13 pm Re: Secondary January 5th, 2026, 6:13 pm Re: Secondary
there were a bunch of free agent cornerbacks we could've signed
As usual for 1 million bucks the Baltimore Ravens got Chidobe Awuzie. 77.9 pff. 6'0 202 great size
Avonte Maddox about 1 million bucks for Detroit 77.9 pff
isaiah Rodger's MIN 72.5 pff
I would've drafted Will Johnson out of Michigan drafted by the cardinal at pick number 47, he was as high as the second rated cornerback before his injury after his injury he hasn't played as well. He's 6'2. 205 and he runs a 4.44
there are experienced veterans out there also we could've traded for someone, if needed and McVey want to get better at cornerback they could - 2 Been thanked

They killed us on 3rd down conversion rate and we turned the ball over 3 times. They had zero TO's. And we almost beat them. Tighten up on 3rd down and don't turn the ball over and we should win easy. Like all 5 of our loses - we beat ourselves. January 9th, 2026, 1:34 pm Re: Rams D Scheme isn't the problem January 9th, 2026, 1:34 pm Re: Rams D Scheme isn't the problem
^^^^No- not the opinions that these guys stink. Cornell posted STATS that have our CB group in top 3 weeks 1-12. That seems crazy to me, and it's hard to square that with what we see/know. Leopards don't change their spots. They always sucked. Sp basically you are saying that the opposing teams- their QB- was just not good vs our guys. Masking the fact that they stink. It's all pretty weird to me. that stat line seems wrong.
Something clearly happened, and we don’t know what. From Weeks 1–10, our secondary was actually good — very good. Even Forbes was playing extremely well for about a month. They had a few bad games here and there, but overall they were a solid unit.
Then, from Weeks 10–17, everything collapsed. All of a sudden, they couldn’t cover anyone. Every CB started getting burned constantly, receivers were running wide open all over the field, and now they literally look — and rank — like a bottom-three unit in the league.
Losing one safety, even if it’s the guy wearing the green dot, simply cannot explain that kind of drop-off.
My guess is that some teams identified a specific weakness, put the tape out there, and then everyone else started copying it. That’s how this league works — teams study tape. Even McVay’s offense went through stretches in past years where it got figured out until he adjusted.
The problem is that it’s taking Shula far too long to find an answer. That is why I don't like a DC that is learning on the job. Like I’ve said before, our CBs lack top-end talent, but I know they can play better — because they already did from Weeks 1–10. - 2 Been thanked
