Limmer I refuse to give up on. We need to let go of the Philly playoff game. He had a lot of good play last year.

Shelton I was glad when he left and not glad when he returned. I thought it was strictly a back-up role when they rerequired him. . He couldn’t even solidify a role on a bad Chicago team.

The entire league has OL issues especially the 2nd unit. We are apart of the entire league…………..

More of what you call Average duane....

Mathew Stafford passed for 4,000+yards for 7 straight seasons 2011- 2017

On September 29 2013 Stafford passed for 242 yards in a win vs the Chicago Bears.
Giving him 14,069 yards through 49 games, surpassing Kurt Warner (13,864) for the best 50-game start to a career.

2014 Stafford and the Lions Lost in the WC Round to Dallas

2015 Season.. Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to complete 60 percent or more of his passes in all 16 games.
He finished the 2015 season with 4,262 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
Despite Stafford's success, the Lions finished with a 7–9 record and missed the playoffs.
On December 13, 2015, in Week 14 vs the St. Louis Rams, Stafford reached 25,000 passing yards in his 90th career game, becoming the fastest quarterback to reach this milestone, surpassing the previous record held by Dan Marino of 92 games.

2016 Stafford and the Lions lost to the Seahags in the WC Round...

In 2017 and 2018 Stafford was ranked 31st by his peers on the NFL Top 100 Players List both years!

2021 SB Season... Stafford passed for the second-most yards in a single postseason with 1,188. He became the first quarterback since Eli Manning to lead a fourth-quarter comeback in a Conference Championship and a Super Bowl in the same playoff season. Stafford became the first player in NFL history to pass for at least 6,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in the regular season and postseason combined all while leading a team to a Super Bowl victory in the same season. He was ranked 27th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022.

In 2023 Stafford was ranked 42nd by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2024.

BTW There's 1600+ players in the NFL.

  • September 16th, 2025, 11:21 am Re: Today…….. September 16th, 2025, 11:21 am Re: Today……..

I’ve criticized Sean McVay plenty of times before, I’ve had my issues with him, but the truth is the guy only does one thing: win. That’s all he does. And you can’t criticize winning. Since he got here, the Rams have basically been a playoff team every single year. We’re talking eight seasons, five playoff appearances (and if we make it this year, that’s six out of eight), two Super Bowl trips, and one Lombardi Trophy. That’s an elite résumé, period.

And let’s not forget: in his very first year with Stafford, he already did what everybody dreams of — won a Super Bowl. That head coach–quarterback duo has delivered more in a short time than a lot of franchises manage in decades.

That’s why it’s ridiculous when someone keeps hammering away at McVay and Stafford nonstop. That’s not analysis, that’s an agenda (THIS!) . And that’s exactly what Truth does every single time: he just shows up to tear down a top-3 head coach and a Hall of Fame quarterback. That’s not constructive opinion, that’s pure bias.

Now, I get what Glendora said — having a stupid opinion isn’t against the rules. Fine. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s annoying and exhausting, because it drags down the quality of the forum . The simple fact is this: with McVay, the Rams went from being irrelevant to being a consistent powerhouse. You can nitpick about playcalling or certain decisions, sure, but you can’t argue with results.

So when someone tries to claim that McVay or Stafford aren’t good enough, it just shows they’re not looking at reality. Because the reality is that with McVay in charge, the Rams are always on the map, always competing, always winning.

You have been his toughest critic, but also extremely fair Brasil.

People listen more when you are fair. And to me, you have always been fair. People will ignore others in here when they have no evidence, are not fair and purely post from emotions

Very good post B, and fair.

We absolutely should have rolled this team period there is no excuse, nothing to learn from it. Poor defense all day against a team without their starting Center and Right Guard out and a marginal QB prone to mistakes their best cb, backup cb who was replacing Horn, and starting ILB.

This was an absolute must win. We have 2 really tough games left those Seattle and Detroit were questionable wins.

We need home field in the playoffs so we don't need to go to cold, rainy, possible snow type weather in Chicago, Greenbay, Philly, Seattle, even SF. Weather can effect the outcome of a game.

    Stafford:
After becoming the 10th quarterback in NFL history to reach the 60,000-yard mark in Week 1, he accomplished an even rarer feat in Week 2, becoming the fifth quarterback in NFL history to pass for 15,000 yards with multiple teams.
The other quarterbacks who have achieved this are Jared Goff (Rams and Lions), Kirk Cousins (Washington and Minnesota), Peyton Manning (Indianapolis and Denver) and Carson Palmer (Cincinnati and Arizona). The fact that Goff and Stafford, who were traded for each other, have both reached 15,000 yards with their new teams is remarkable.

Stafford can continue moving his name up the record books this year, as he'll pass at least four quarterbacks on the all-time passing yards list if he throws for another 3,740 yards in 2025. He's also just one passing touchdown behind Matt Ryan, who is ninth all-time in the statistic.

Hell no!! We don’t need a guy who is going to sit this year in the first round. We need ILB, CB or TE period. All could be instant starters.

Simmons would be a good pick. You don't pick a TE in the first round if you have him 40th on your board. Fill the team with the best players out there. Now, if there is a CB that they love , I like that as well. Draft by board, not position.

I think this might be the worst Rams loss ever. It has to at least be in the top 5.
I thought the Super Bowl loss to the Pats was bad - being favored by 2 TDs. The cheating. But at least it was against a young Brady.

THIS game against the 49ers? We were playing against a team with an injured 2nd string QB, and multiple starters out.
It shouldn't have been close. On top of this, ANOTHER blocked kick!!!

The thing is, the offense played pretty well. The defense, not so much - but not terrible really. But certainly bad enough.
The fumbles, bad kickoff, refs didn't help.

Deferring in the OT? Are you high, McVay? Thier defense was gassed - why not just get them on the field again and crush them?

Ugh...I didn't even wear one of my many Rams hats today when leaving the house. It's not even about embarrassment - it's more about principal.

definitely top 5.....if we kick the FG to tie there was 4 min left. the way our D was playing they would have kicked a winning FG with seconds left on the clock.

Avoid the punt return TD and this play never happens. Special teams lost this game. Punt return TD gave a quiet stadium and downtrodden Seachickens new life. Momentum reversed 180 degrees on that play. Special teams cost the Rams this game and the Philly game. Rams should be 13-2. Special teams is killing this team.

Agreed. Also a big play that overlooked was with about 2:10 to go in the 1st half, the Seahawks had a 3rd and 16 and ran a draw where the back got the first down. That play prevented the Rams from getting the ball back with plenty of time to score. Now Kupp fumbled later in that possession so Seattle didn’t score but I thought it really swung momentum. If Rams had gotten the ball back up 13-7 and put maybe another FG on the board before half all the sudden you are up 2 possessions and really dominating the game. That draw play turned the game at that point

Its not Mcvay call. If Shula says Dolac is the best option, Dolac will start. Same way it was Shula who said why Reeder made the roster. Mcvay allows his DC to make those roster calls.

sure and if McVay says he want to start Reeder Shula will start Reeder

I said that, but Mcvay allows his DC to make those calls. He isnt a control freak when it comes to the defense. Which is why late last season and early this season, I was giving Shula all the kudos for how well the D is doing bc it is pretty much his show.

On offense, I give Mcvay the kudos and blame for whatever happens on offense bc he is a total control freak, like all the other Head Coaches with a OC background. The Rams OC gets a pass pretty much either way imo. Not to say the OC doesnt play a major role, just saying that Mcvay makes the final say on offense.

Defense is different, Mcvay allows his DC to run the show, so I give the DC credit or blame for what happens on D.
Same with Special Teams, that's why Chase imo needs the boot.

With all that said, if the offense, defense or special teams fail, it all ultimately falls on Mcvay. Rightfully so. Im just pointing out that more likely Mcvay will allow Shula to make the call, whether or not Reeder starts.

Only 13 Touchbacks on 164 punts. 69 inside the 20 or 42% of his punts. Career Avg, 47.2 Yards 40.8 Net.
He also does KO's and is the holder on FG's and PAT's.
All 4 of his Punts @ Seattle were into a stiff little breeze in the last 9:39 of the 4th Q.
Seattle's Punter benefitted from it, thus the 57 and 51 yarders.
Evans didn't have a great night punting but everyone has an off night. See Staff @ Carolina, KW vs SF. He even has a ST Solo Tackle.
    Very valuable asset AFAIC..

I was reviewing Karty’s stats from his rookie year last night.

In the 2024 NFL season, Rams rookie kicker Joshua Karty had a strong debut, scoring 119 points, making 29 of 34 field goals (85.3%), and 32 of 36 extra points, setting a Rams rookie scoring record and earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors.

He had a solid rookie year and my gut feeling tells me that things went south when the idiot we had for a special teams coach starting asking him to adjust his kicks around the defensive rushes. We witnessed this in a few games and it was a disaster.

    Totally the wrong approach.

Maybe Chase Blackburn messed this kids head up so much by having him change his approach, thus slowing down the whole kicking process and f’ed up the entire operation.

There weren't any great difference makers at cb at trade deadline. We couldn't address everything. The thinking was we needed to shore up our run defense and we have adding Landman and Poona we needed a replacement for Kupp everything we did overall was smart. Every team has holes imo we have the least holes in the NFL.

Lastly this team played extremely well. STs lost us 2 maybe 3 games no one saw that coming so hard to plan for that it wasn't the CBs that lost us those games.

Offense has been playing well and defense played well for a while but anymore. Defense is full of holes. You need at least one ILB that can cover and at least a good CB1. We have neither. If your defense can't stop the pass you are in trouble. Mac Jones passed for over 350. Darnold destroyed them in both meetings ( despite the tos) ...even Bryce Young carved them up. Does this look like a SB defense to you?

Also, about trading for a CB, all you need is call teams and offer picks just like we did with Ramsey. Not saying we should give our first rounders but a second rounder for a good cb1 would do it. The guys we have now are not starting caliber.

Jones also threw for another 319 yards in the 2nd meeting @ SF!
Someone better cover London this week and the rush needs to get pressure.
Indoor stadium plays right up our ally.. Notice Indy and Houston both gave us a go @ Sofi, they play in an indoor stadium too.
I think the Rams will be fine. More Injuries is my biggest worry.

So when they players on field don't execute Sean's a Shitty play caller.
When they do, it's because the players played great!
Cause if a play blows up because the other team did their jobs and made some plays, it's Sean's shitty play calling...
I thought like that in grade 5 maybe....

    Pretty much

    For example the redzone

Drops, poor throws, penalties and fumbles has cost the rams at least 6 tds. If players execute the rams would be one of the better redzone teams but since the players didnt that means the play calls are bad.

The importance of a good blocking tight end can not be understated. I am not sold on Davis, I think he is a little slow footed. It will be interesting to see how Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long do against us this week (hopefully, not well).

I agree, Blocking tights end are important and the rams have been able to find one throughout the years. Mundt, Long and now Park.

Its the play making tight end that seems to elude the rams. 2022 and 2019 Higbee might be some of the best numbers I have seen from a rams tight end, since I started watching the rams mid 80s

Blocking is def important. But we did NOT draft Ferg for his blocking skills. It will be great to see another weapon if he ever gets out there.

I really wanted them to draft Conerly due to T concerns. It’s possible they may feel that KT Leveston is for real. Maybe Trey Wedig from Wisconsin and Indiana could turn into a real swing tackle. Maybe… https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2025/5/10/24425001/rams-offensive-linemen-undrafted-free-agents

It’s likely a veteran backup will emerge this summer though.

I was waiting for someone to bring up KT Leveston. Could he and/or McClendon shore up the RT spot? If so that still only leaves Arcuri as backup LT and last time that did not go well. KT was exclusively a LT at K-State so maybe he's plan B..

For those scoring at home, Dedich and McMahon are both OG/OC types. Not sure what we'd do at LT.

Recognizing Kupp probably wasn't the answer and making that super tough decision to let him go was really smart

Immediately replacing him with Adams another very smart decision.

Acquiring a huge run stuffer in Poona Ford and letting Brown walk was another great move.

Resigning Stafford and Jimmy G to solidify the QB position elevates are chances

The draft I really like what Les did quality over quantity plus solidifying several key backup positions. Hoecht left in FA and drafting a strong OLB was really smart thinking. With Higby always injured Ferguson will really help. Getting Paul and even Dolac will make the ILBs stronger. Rotational depth at RB and DL made both positions deeper.

Signing a KR/PR something that has gone by the wayside in past years thought in getting better improved the STs.

After June 1 I would like to see a CB upgrade and backup T but T takes precedent. Our backup T was Noteboom and he wasn't good we must must must upgrade the position.

Overall Les and his team and McVay and his team really did a masterful job at shoring up and improving the team bravo!

Yes the league is dominated by bad HC’s. Again not news. Ours is not one of them………

Bottom line for the umpteenth time. If McVay left the Rams he would be the top guy wanted by anyone looking for a HC. You would also have other teams firing their current one to try to get McVay. He would also be paid the highest salary in the history of the NFL for a HC…..

Again for the umteenth time McVay will never become available by the Rams. Kroenke is a smart business man n isn’t stupid………
