Yeah- agree the whole rule/setup needs a revamp. Wasn't the point to stop injuries? Full speed collisions? Then why punish the touchback? They should just revert to the old way, or move the kicker back and have endzone more difficult- results in 20 yard line- not the 35.

This is why IMO the CB is THE hardest position in the league outside of QB. Tough to find good NFL starters. But to me it's pretty clear other teams have better guys on their backend than we currently do. Could be the D scheme, could be the player skills(of lack of). Could be both. Can't expect them ...

EDIT: I see that there's a good chance we get a home game 2nd round if we are the 5 seed. So just for that, I would rather play hard and win out with Stafford. Rest only the real injuries.

I think our O is elite. Best in the league- up there with Seattle or Pats. The D has been drifting the wrong way. Looked very elite early on. Not so much now, and not 100% sure why. Teams have figured out how to play us? Was Lake that big a deal being out? Or have our guys regressed? I agree not ...

I would go so far to say DJ prob cost us the game. Horrible penalties on huge plays. Could not run his way AT ALL. We need way better. AJ has health issues and we will need a real backup who could even fight for the job. OL is so, son important with Stafford at the helm.

No doubt about that. But, we never saw him drop into coverage like Verse and Young are being asked to. I get why; the weak secondary. But, to cover the weak secondary it makes more sense to bring constant pressure.

He's a backup to a guy who is borderline pro bowler. I expect that his play is <Dotson. That said, we ALWAYS need to reload the OL. I don't think Dedich is trash, but he's not a starter. Costly penalty he had.
